Maintaining Good Energy Levels During the Holidays

Making a list, checking it twice, wondering how to fit it all in, with so much to do and so little time! As we become more sensitive to subtle energies, we begin to notice we are picking up and influenced by the energies of others. One of the steps along the spiritual path is learning how to manage your own energy so that you don’t become drained by your environment.

In my previous
blog, I discussed the importance of discerning your own energies from those of others. It’s important to know whether what you are experiencing is from your own feelings and emotions, or the those of others.

Now I would like to share some common practices you can use to shield yourself daily.
Once we become aware of the permeability of our energy, it becomes increasingly important to create a daily practice to keep our systems clear and in high frequency status.

Here are some great practices I have learned over the years that you can put into place to support your own energy field and be less resonant with that of others. See what works best for you! I like to use them all!

Maintain a Positive Mental Attitude

An important daily practice to help maintain good mental hygiene is to keep your thoughts positive. Work on maintaining a positive outlook and practice refraining from dwelling on negative thoughts and feelings. This will help you to avoid being in resonance with the potential negative energies of others in your environment.

Avoid Excessive Media and Electronics

Consuming a lot of media information, regardless of the source, is an energy draining activity. If possible, keep the television and radio off as much as possible during this season. Instead, make time to be in silence to connect with yourself, and silence itself. Go outside and connect with nature, feel the breeze, hear the sounds of the trees, and the animals. These activities will help clear your energy field of any built up toxins and keep you grounded and feeling revived!

Create a Shield of White Light

You can call on White Light to clear your energy field, and to create a shield of white light with the intention that it surround you throughout the day. This shield will help to prevent any negativity of others from permeating your field.

You can do this by standing straight, imagine you are standing in a strong pillar of White Light. Call on this white light to fill your body and expand around you to become a shield around and within your body and all of your subtle bodies (etheric, astral, causal, spiritual and divine). You can envision this as a large, egg-shaped sphere around your body.

Throughout the day, place your awareness on this sphere of light surrounding and permeating your energy field to help maintain its potency. Energy follows awareness. It doesn’t take but a few seconds to do this, but the impact can be very supportive.

Use Blue and White Light as Shield

Calling on White and Blue light are also powerful healing tools that don’t require any attunements in order to use for your own well-being and safety. Simply imagine yourself in a large egg-shaped bubble of blue and white light. You can see it pouring in through the top of your head, expanding out around your body. This will keep your energy field clear of toxic energies in your environment. The blue light has the added benefit of containing your own energies within your field and further protecting them from infiltration of outside influence. In Pranic healing, blue light is used to contain the healing energies within the system being healed.

Call on Higher Beings

You can call on the higher beings of light to assist you if you need immediate help during your day. This can be in the form of your Guardian Angel, Archangel Michael, the Christ Being, Mother Mary, Quan Yin, or any spiritual being you most resonate with.

My personal favorite spiritual being to call upon when I feel I need a bigger safety net is Archangel Michael. He is known as the Great Protector. You can call on his blue sword of light to cut any cords of attachment that are draining you of precious energy. I have called on his Presence many times in my life and have felt much safer knowing he is actively supporting my safety and wellbeing.

Protect your time and energy.

An important way to help maintain a strong energy field is to limit and protect your time and energy during the holiday season to those activities which nourish you and support your inner well-being.
Create boundaries around your time constraints.

Boundaries are a good way to prevent your energy levels from being over-taxed. Say yes only to those things that rev your engines and keep you feeling upbeat and motivated. Say no to things you know will be draining or overwhelming to your system. If you can’t say no, then make time to recover so you can be in full health and strength as we move through the holiday season.

I hope these suggestions help you to feel wonderfully strong, healthy and energized as we move through this holiday season and beyond.

Blessings and Cosmic Inspirations for a Wonderful, Happy and Safe Holiday Season!

Feel like you aren’t getting anywhere on your path of awakening? Putting in lots of meditation time and still find yourself reacting to the day’s stresses and those in your environment in less than enlightened ways? Hitting inner road blocks like never before? It’s okay. It happens. We are awakening to a new way of being. Our old habits and patterns aren’t so easy to shake. It takes time, effort, discipline, and patience. Patience with others, and most importantly with ourselves. Our old ways of thinking and behaving won’t leave us overnight, just because we have awakened to our spiritual selves and are aware that we are much more than we ever thought we were. We are still human beings with thoughts, feelings, inner wounds and habitual behaviors. Now that we are aware, we are responsible for taking care of ourselves on a much deeper level. Which means we must face our inner selves with courage and determination to heal and reach our full potential, and allow ourselves the time and space to do so. I remember when I first started attending classes and group meditations. I just knew, every meditation, every next new class, I was going to be opened up and my spiritual gifts would suddenly appear and I would finally arrive! Of course, I began to catch on with each new meditation, or new class, that I still had some inner work to do before my gifts would decide to show up. I finally began to realize, it’s a process, not an event! It’s the journey that counts, not the destination. I still had loads of inner work to do. In addition to the wounds I had yet to heal from years of emotional trauma, as I was slowly beginning my healing journey, I suddenly found myself dealing with the grief of the loss of my mother and my marriage. Two major life changes in almost as many years. Yes, I had work to do. Of course, healing and awakening weren’t going to happen immediately, though in the beginning I naively thought they would. Or, maybe I just wished they would, so the hurt would stop. Walking the awakening path opens doors to awareness in unexpected ways. We begin to see ourselves, perhaps for the first time. Self-awareness is the path to true healing and awakening. We are no good to others if we don’t first take care of ourselves. If we aren’t working on our inner work, our spiritual development will not progress as rapidly as we would like. To be clear enough to connect to higher worlds, we must do the inner work to shed all of the heaviness from our being. I know all too well that facing our inner demons is a very scary prospect. Who knows what we will find lurking in the recesses of our inner being? Yet, we can’t let that stop us from doing our work. Living in that fear is self-defeating and stops us in our tracks. It keeps us in our lower patterns and from exploring our inner connections to the worlds of Spirit and Higher Consciousness. The journey requires us to have the courage to face our inner wounds, so we can heal and move forward with clarity and inner peace.
